Metro Martin Place

At the heart of Macquarie Bank’s new global headquarters in Sydney, Normoyle Engineering delivered a package of 30 individual feature staircases spanning multiple levels of the Metro Martin Place development. These architecturally striking stairs are central to the building’s design, connecting floors through dramatic open voids—some up to 10 stories above ground.

Installation posed significant logistical and safety challenges, requiring months of meticulous planning. Working closely with Lendlease, project engineers, and the architectural team, we developed innovative methodologies to complete the works without traditional scaffolding—reducing cost and complexity for the client.

The project showcased Normoyle’s ability to solve complex problems with precision, collaboration, and an unshakeable commitment to safety and quality.
