Crown Casino Feature Stair

Normoyle Engineering was entrusted with the delivery of the landmark feature staircase at Crown Casino Sydney—a 150-tonne sculptural centrepiece that has since become an iconic Instagram location. This highly complex structure was fabricated, assembled, and installed entirely by Normoyle, showcasing our capability in high-end architectural metalwork and precision site execution.

Surrounded by 3D curved Venetian plaster walls and a custom 3D plasterboard soffit, the stair demanded months of on-site welding and seamless coordination with multiple trades. To facilitate installation within the constrained environment, we designed and built a bespoke site-specific crane capable of safely positioning the massive sections with millimetre accuracy.

As part of the scope, Normoyle also delivered an integrated crystal lighting feature suspended directly from the stair—bringing together engineering, elegance, and craft. The result is a bold architectural statement that blends structural integrity with luxury detail, now recognised as one of the most photographed features within the Crown precinct.
